Resilience and Recovery between/of City and Countryside in the Greek World
(Basel, January 21-23, 2025)
The international conference “The Day After Tomorrow. Resilience and Recovery between City and Countryside in the Greek World” took place January 21-23 in Basel and was coorganized by Prof. Martin Guggisberg (University of Basel) and Dr. Alessandro Pace (University of Milano). The event is part of our current Francavilla project and dealt with the question of the effects that the destruction of Sybaris (510 BC) had on the settlement of the surrounding area and how these events should be assessed in the context of comparable urban destruction in Greece and Magna Graecia.
